Trees are waking up!

Intro: “Unlike nature, cities are not boring”, I hear sometimes. For me it is the other way around. I think we shouldn’t mix up busy with exciting and calm with boring. Nature is calm, never boring. Take this winter for example, this is different than any other winter. Every winter is different. Nature does not repeat itself. Two sunsets are never alike.

We got snow twice this year. But despite a few very cold days, we have had very mild weather. It is like spring and I see trees are waking up. Some trees even have blossoms, which is unusual. I finished many big projects and I am finishing a few small projects now. I have changed our routine walk from Greenway park to city park. This is a new recreation area, with a nice pond and many geese and ducks. I can also let Twyla off leash, because it is usually quiet.

Finally I went out on Saturday. It was nice an and warm. I cooked rice and ground beef with Bushbuddy. I roasted (actually over-roasted) some coffee. Cleaned up car windows and head back home. Twyla mostly sat around and had snacks. She is more calm these days and it scares me.

Sunday was rainy. I didn’t do any real work. I went to get some groceries. Everything is getting more expensive, especially coffee. I am constantly switching coffee brands, to any left over that is still cheaper, before the next expensive batches come to shelf.
